CLEI 2009

CLEI is an annual event promoted by the Centro Lationamericano de Estudios en Informática, gathering researchers, professors, and students from Latin-American Universities and Centers to discuss research,
teaching, and the growth of the Computer Science area in the region. CLEI 2009, the thirtieth fifth edition of this event, comprehends several activities, including paper presentation sessions, forums, discussion panels, thesis and dissertation contest, as well as talks from distinguished speakers. The proceedings will be published in digital media (CD-ROM).

These activities will be distributed in the following events:

- XXXV Latin American Informatics Conference (XXXV CLEI)
- XVII Iberian-American Conference on High Education in Computer Science (CIESC 2009)
- XVI Latin-American Master's Thesis Contest (CLTM 2009)
- Latin American Networking Conference (LANC 2009)
- Latin American Women in Computing (LAWC 2009)

CLEI 2009 is co-promoted by the Brazilian Computer Society and will be held in Pelotas, in the extreme southern part of the country. Pelotas is renowned for its candy industry. It is situated on the shores of Lake Patos, and enjoys a rich historical and cultural heritage.
